Terms

Last updated 2026-10-06. By buying a spot you agree to these terms.

What you're buying

A spot is a temporary digital display placement on the wall at 1dollarto1million.com: the pixels you select, painted with your color or image, plus the name and social handle you provide. It is not an investment, a donation, a security, a token or a chance to win anything. Spots can't be resold, transferred or exchanged for money.

Prices

• An empty pixel costs $1.
• A painted pixel can be taken over by paying its takeover price: double the price last paid for it, halving for every 5 days nobody pays for it, and never below $1. In full: max($1, round up(price paid × 2 × 0.5^(days since painted ÷ 5))).
• New paint can't be taken over for 5 minutes.
• The exact price for your selection is shown before you pay and is charged in US dollars (or Korean won at the rate shown, for Korean payment methods). Prices follow this fixed published formula, never chance.

How long your spot stays

Your paint stays on the wall until someone takes it over or the season ends. Each season is one calendar month and ends at 00:00 UTC on the 1st. The final wall of every season, and a snapshot of every day, are kept in the public archive.

Content rules

Not allowed: hate or harassment; content attacking anyone's race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality, religion or disability; political content, candidates, parties, campaigns or petitions; religious messaging; sexual content; gambling; scams, fake giveaways or crypto schemes; weapons or drugs; malware; impersonation; other people's trademarks or copyrighted work without permission; personal information about other people; and anything illegal in Korea or where you live. Only Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and X accounts can be linked.

Every name, handle and image is checked automatically before it appears, and we review the wall continuously. We may decline any spot before it appears (full refund) and remove any spot that breaks these rules at any time.

Refunds

• A spot is delivered the moment it appears on the wall. After that it can't be refunded, including when someone takes it over or the season ends.
• If we decline your spot before it appears, or someone else painted the area before your payment completed, you get a full refund automatically.
• Spots removed for breaking the content rules are not refunded.

Payments

Payments are processed by PayPal and, for Korean payment methods, by PortOne and its partner payment companies. We never see or store your card details. Payment provider fees are not refunded when a refund is issued.

Fair use

Automated buying, bots, scripts, card testing or attempts to get around these rules or the price are not allowed and may lead to cancelled orders and a ban.

Changes

We may update these terms and the price rules for future purchases. Changes never affect spots already bought.
